Dr Thomas Reddel
Consultant Psychiatrist
Director of Like Minds Health
BSc, MBBS, FRANZCP
Tom completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in Brisbane at the University of QLD. After graduating in 2012, he worked in the public sector as a medical officer and later as a psychiatric registrar during his specialist training. Towards the end of his fellowship, Tom transitioned to the private sector. He gained his fellowship in February 2020 and has worked primarily in private practice since then. Tom founded Like Minds Health in February 2022. At Like Minds Health, Tom hopes to develop an innovative psychiatric practice dedicated to promoting and restoring the health of his patients.
Tom prioritises patient-centred care and believes that clients can become empowered to make more informed choices and be active participants in determining their course of treatment and pathways to recovery. Tom understands that a wide array of factors contribute to the development of mental illness in anyone. He recognises that lifestyle and psychological factors are just as important as medications to achieve optimal functioning and recovery for his patients.
Tom is a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He has a particular interest in mood disorders (depression & bipolar), anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, and ADHD, although he has experience in a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
Tom does not admit patients to private hospitals. Should any of his patients require admission, however, he can facilitate referrals to the private hospital of their choice as part of their treatment.
Tom is not currently accepting new patient referrals.
